The planned Away Break for 2025 will be from Wednesday 1st to Sunday 5th October

staying at Last Drop Village Hotel & Spa in Bolton.

The hotel is just outside Bolton, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the accommodation is clean and comfortable, the food is good and it has an indoor pool, sauna and spa. It has several boutique type shops in its grounds - including a craft pottery shop where you can paint your own piece of pottery. It also has its own pub. In addition, the hotel may be able to provide some in house entertainment for us on one or two evenings if required.

There are several places of interest in the area which we could visit on our journey to/from the hotel and on our day trips out. Examples of places to go include Speke Hall (National Trust), Sheffield Botanical Gardens, Turton Tower, Smithills Open Farm, Bury Market, Imperial War Museum (North), Coronation Street Experience/Tours, a scenic rail journey from Settle to Carlisle, a visit to Skipton Market plus a boat cruise on the Leeds & Liverpool canal or a visit to Saltaire - a 'model' Victorian Industrial village created by Sir Titus Salt for workers in his woollen mills.

 

The exact cost of this holiday will depend on which trips we include but it is likely to be in the region of £525 per person based on 2 people sharing. For single accommodation, we have managed to negotiate a single supplement of just ten pounds per person per night so an additional £40 for the entire break for singles.

 

The £525 (estimate) includes return coach travel with pick ups in Hemel and Hatfield, gratuity for our coach driver, half board accommodation at the hotel, visits to places of interest on the journey to and from Bolton and day trips out on the Thursday and Saturday.

 

Forty members have signed up and paid their deposits already but there is room on the coach for up to 50 people. A non-refundable deposit of £50 will be required to secure your place once availability has been confirmed to you. The balance will be payable in August

subject only to there being sufficient spare places available.
